Waiting +

It's been awhile so I thought I would post a quick update. The adoption community is expecting another batch of referrals any minute - this batch is rumored to go through November 14, 2005 (reminder I am Nov 30). So they are averaging about 2 - 7 days worth of referrals each month. 2 being the extreme low and hopefully we won't see that number again. I suspect I will get our referral the First week of October with hopefully traveling in December (in hopes I can finalize everything in the 2007 TAX year and not lose any of the 4 wks vacation I've been saving because you know that Adoption parents do not get paid for their FMLA!). So again....we wait......

My nephew B spent the night last weekend and him and C were talking about her "baby sister" and B said:

B: C said her baby sister might be 8 years old, is that right?
Me: No, she will probably be much younger than that and I imagine she will be younger than C.
ME IF we get a baby sister. China doesn't have many babies left. But if we don't get a baby sister that would be a good thing because that would mean that all the babies found forever families!
B: How could they run out of babies? You ORDERED one a LONG TIME AGO!!!!!!

Oh my gosh - I was cracking up!!!! "Out of the mouths of babes...." :-)

Still not sure who, if anyone will be traveling with us. December travel could get a lot more expensive than any other time of the year and expense is a big factor in who tags along for the ride. I also don't know how long we will be gone. If the new little one is from Guangdong province (like C and like I requested), this province requires a longer stay (+ 5 days I think) which brings total travel up to almost 3 weeks. ChaChing$

Whatever happens, happens, I'm giving it all up to the powers that be (for those that know me - you do know how difficult that is for me to do,right? :-))!
