All of the acceptances from our group of 8 families were sent back to the CCAA yesterday! Now we wait for the CCAA to send back Travel Approval (TA) - it could take up to 4 weeks for this. Once TA is received, our agency makes an appointment with the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou for the final bit of governmental documentation that needs to be done when we are in country. This consulate Appt (CA), is typically confirmed in about 72 hours and once confirmed we should travel about 3 weeks after that. The agency is estimating approximately the week of December 3rd. If CCAA takes less than 4 weeks to get us our TA though, we could conceivably leave sooner - we are all hoping for the week before Thanksgiving.
Ironically enough, my agency rep Stephanie adopted one of her daughters from Guiping Social Welfare Institue (SWI) in Guiping City in Guangxi Province (mouthful, huh?). She was kind enough to forward some pics of the city but also some random shots of the province (Thanks Stephanie!!! Have I told you lately how awesome you are???).
